There are just three days left in the quarter and then we will move into the final stretch of the year! I can't believe how it's flying by. Report cards will be sent out on March 21. Please sign the parent signature card. You may keep the copy of the report card. Please return your student information cards for enrollment for next year. Also, please send in the envelope and add three stamps. Your child's final report card will be sent home at the end of the year.
Spelling words for this week will be "or" words.
Reading--I am continuing to administer DRAs (developmental reading assessments) to all students. I am impresses with all of the progress that has been made this year!
Math---We will be adding two digit numbers with a multiple of 10 and adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number with regrouping. We also continue to work on +/- word problems within 20.
Science---We had an interesting unit on Food Waste last week. We learned about all of the food that is wasted in our country. On Wednesday, we observed the many bags of wasted food that Pitner produced in a day. We are learning about portion control. This week we will be talking about muscles and how they work.
Writing---In quarter four, we will review our three writing genres: narrative, informational, and opinion.
Thank you for attending Bedtime, Books, and Brownies last week! We had such a great turnout! This is always a popular event at Pitner.
