• Book Reports are due October 15, 2008. Books need to be approved by Wed., September 24.
• T shirts have been ordered and should arrive shortly.
• PTSA is hosting Curricculum Night at Pitner in October so be sure to attend!

It was a pleasure to see everyone at Open House last Thursday. If you have any questions or concerns that we didn't answer, please feel free to email us and we will respond quickly.

A few reminders...

• PLEASE, PLEASE sign the weekly behavior journals and red Friday Folders on Friday and send them back on Monday. You can put the behavior journals in the red folders and we will get them.
• If you are going to contribute to the class fund, it needs to be separate from school funds and made out to me. The school will not handle these funds. All donations collected will go towards activities/supplies for your children. Again, the amount requested is $25.00, or whatever you would like to send.
• We will be sending order forms home for 4th grade field trip shirts. The cost will be $6.00 per child.
• TRANPORTATION CHANGES must be in writing. We cannot accept the student's word that they are going home a diferent way. This is for your child's safety. We want to avoid any unauthorized methods of afternoon tranportation (ie, going home with a friend without your knowledge). Thank you for your assistance!

Welcome to our second week of school! We have begun spelling this week as well as Social Studies. Please remember to review your child's homework sheet each night to ensure that they have completed everything. It may be helpful to pack up their book bags the night before. Please be sure to send in a nutritious snack each day; not cookies or cakes. They tend to concentrate better with less sugar in their systems.

Students will have math and Spelling homework each night and occasionally social studies or science that wasn't completed in class. I will make every effort to post the week's spelling words on the blog, just in case...

A reminder that we will have Open House on Thursday of this week, August 21, 2008, at 6:00 in our room. Please plan to assemble in the cafeteria first for a brief PTSA meeting and staff introductions. Hope to see you all there!

Tonight is the last night to get pledges for the Fun Run on Thursday. Be sure to contact all of your friends and relatives to get a pledge for the Boosterthon! Students will get their t-shirts Thursday morning prior to the run so no one forgets them. They will be theirs to keep after the event! Thank you again for all of your support!!

WOW! What a GREAT first week of school!! We have truly enjoyed getting to know your children. We have been doing a lot of class building activities geared towards creating a "team" atmosphere and enhancing friendships. Next week we will begin instruction in our core subjects, so homework will increase a bit. Please be sure to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have and we will work with you to find a suitable solution!

• Yellow homework folders will begin going home on Monday in their binders, so be sure to check them nightly!
• The weekly behavior communication sheet only needs to be signed on Fridays and returned on Mondays. If they didn't have any concerns for that day, we will draw a smiley face on that day, otherwise, we will highlight what they had difficulty with that day.
• Don't forget we will have Open House on Thursday at 6:00 pm in our room. Hope to see you all. Have a great weekend!!

First Day!

We want to thank you all for your support and well wishes this year. We had an AWESOME first day! We did several class building activities and getting to know each other. Please be sure to complete and return the school forms in the Cobb County folder that went home today. If you did not return the neon papers from Sneak a Peek on Friday, please be sure to fill those out and return them as well.
